BiC's New Premium Disposable Razors for Men

Leading shaving blade experts, BIC revealed a brand new 4-blade disposable male shaver to the market - the BiC Comfort 4. This is a new addition to its range of disposable razors which are quite cost effective as compared to regular shaving razors with disposable blades. The new range of disposable shavers are extremely high quality and offer a much better shave than the cheap ones available at the corner store.

The new BiC Comfort comes with a sturdy handle which is quite heavy as compared to regular disposable razors. BIC's new disposable razor feels almost the same weight as the refillable razors. The handle is of good quality reinforced plastic which does not become slippery when wet. Moreover, the thick rubber guard makes it easier to handle and manoeuvre in difficult areas.

BIC disposable razors come in packs of 3 and have 4 spring mounted blades to offer a finer shaving experience. 3 of the blades are mounted on a pivoted head to help provide closer shaves. Although, some people may not find the head to be as pivoting as advertised, the razors definitely give a fine shave without any cuts.

Apart from its sharp razor blades the aloe vera strip on the razor head helps to prevent the skin from drying after the shave. This helps to provide for a healthy and smooth shaved skin. This is particularly good for those with extremely sensitive skin.

"The launch of BIC® Comfort 4® fills a gap in the market and will add value to the disposable category of shaving razors as consumers increasingly look to trade up to a greater number of blades. Thanks to BIC's advanced technology, BIC® Comfort 4® offers a market leading shave that competes favourably on price against leading shaver systems", says Jay Banerjee, Marketing Manager of BIC Shavers. BIC Comfort 4 are available in sleek orange and grey packaging and priced at £4.99 (about US$ 7.00).

Disposable razors account for nearly 70% of the wet-shave market in volume terms but account for only 30% in terms of monetary value. The razor blade business accounts for $6 billion revenue each year of which the French shaver company BIC has been a leader in the disposable razor market.

Schick and Gillette are the other 2 main competitors of BIC. BIC has been expanding in the overseas markets as well to capture a larger global market share. It intends to invest $4 million in Brazil to strengthen sales of its disposable razors. It currently owns 30% market share with 600 million units sold annually. In the US market, it accounts for 11% of the market in terms of revenues and 22½% in terms of unit volume.

BIC is appreciated and loved the world over for its quality products and affordability. They started to produce shaving blades way back in 1975 when they had developed and started producing one piece razors. Since then, BIC products have evolved over the period and in 90's they came out with twin blade designs. Later in 2003, BIC introduced its 3-blade BiC Comfort.

Over the years, the company has sold millions of razors and have been one of the dominating companies in the shaving market. They have a wide range of razors for both men and women to meet their varying needs.
